Nebula M78 is the brightest diffuse reflection of the sky. Discovered by Pierre Méchain in early 1780, Charles Messier added it to his catalog the December 17, 1780. Belongs to Orion complex, a large cloud of gas and dust centered on the Orion Nebula M42/M43, and is about 1 600 light years away. It is the brightest portion of a vast cloud of dust which includes NGC 2071 (the Northeast, lower right in our image), NGC 2067 (near the northwest), and the very weak NGC 2064 (southwest), all visible in our image. Together with some other nebulae, including NGC 2024 (Orion B) near Zeta Orionis (sometimes called the Flame Nebula), all these nebulae are associated with the molecular cloud LDN 1630 (from the catalog Lynds Dark Nebula ) , part of the Orion complex.
As a reflection nebula, M78 is a cloud of interstellar dust that glow in the reflected and scattered light of bright blue (formerly type B), including HD 38563A brightest and second brightest HDE 35563B, both apparent visual magnitude of about 10. The nature of M78 as a reflection nebula was discovered by M. Vesto Slipher Lowell Observatory in 1919 (1919 Slipher ). At its distance, M78 measures almost 4 light years long.

The M60 is a giant elliptical galaxies in the Virgo cluster. Like most Messier galaxies in this cluster (located in the east), is the last of the row of three (M58 , M59 and M60) that is seen in the visual field of a telescope aimed at this region sky. At low magnification, appears in the same field of view that the galaxy M59 (25 min / arc).
The galaxy M60 was discovered by Johann Gottfried Koehler on April 11, 1779 along with its neighbor M59 , while the comet was of that year. A day later, and independently, was detected by Barnabus Oriani, did not notice the galaxy M59 , and four days later, on April 15, 1779, by Charles Messier, who also discovered the next M58. Messier described M60 as a "little different" galaxies M58 and M59 .

Los invitamos a participar del Curso de Introducción a la Observación Bird. It is oriented to the general public with guidelines for teachers.
The course is an invitation to contemplation and conservation of our natural environment. Through the birds can enjoy nature, we approached it, to accompany our children and moved by the beauty of life. Did you know that birds are excellent indicators of the state of the environment? Its presence or its absence is a clear indicator of what is happening around us.
