Two stars are in conjunction when viewed from a third party (usually the Earth) are in the same celestial longitude. As the celestial latitude may be different the stars are very close in the sky, but do not match, passing one over the other. The combination is one of the main aspects of the planets. In this case, both shots are made with the Canon EOS 1000D to 1 / 6 second exposure at ISO 800. The pictures were taken with a tripod from a town called Cadiz Zahara de la Sierra.
