The World Bird Festival in Bariloche

The World Bird Festival is an educational and awareness event, coordinated by BirdLife International worldwide since 1993, and Aves Argentinas, the country.
The theme this year is "IBAs. 2345 key sites for biodiversity conservation in the Americas. 273 are in Argentina!" Aves Argentinas
coordinates in the country the "Important Bird Areas Bird" ("IBAs " or "IBA" for its acronym in English) of BirdLife International.
is an unprecedented global effort in the compilation and analysis of scientific information on birds, which can identify and manage a network of sites of global importance for biodiversity conservation. The ultimate goal of the program is effective protection of all biodiversity through integrated conservation efforts, including management activities, environmental education, legal instruments, research, monitoring and protection.
The inventory of IBAs (meaning in English "Important Areas for Bird Conservation) of Argentina has 273 sites covering 12% of the land surface. Is the result of an extensive collaboration network of scientists and conservationists throughout the country as it gathers the information obtained and discussed through workshops, field trips, specialist consultations and literature review involving more than 200 specialists, technical and ornithologists.

- Thursday October 22 - Lecture: "ENVIRONMENTS AROUND BARILOCHE: INTERESTING BIRD OBSERVATORIES. Lecturer: Eng. Silvana Alzogaray with the collaboration of Professor José Giménez.

- Friday, October 23, at 19 pm. Place: Museo de la Patagonia. This proposal includes Field trip: participants have the opportunity to make an outing to watch birds in various places: coastal, open spaces, bush - forest and meadow.
