Gay Cruises New England

canceled out confusing (tuna) [updated]

In the following lines I will try to bring some order to a subject that I became interested because of fishing for a copy of Sierra (Sarda Sarda) and oddly after consulting with some acquaintances di me that each one would put a different name. When searching the web, I found everything barias almost identical species as that area after they exchanged the names of documents consulted books and even college papers have come the following conclusions.

The first species to show are the best I've seen different, I suppose because of their size, as are the two biggest of all to appoint then both species belong to the family of the tunas (Atunes .)

Tuna (Thunnus)

think this species can not be any doubt, we all know as tuna , a marine species that suffers most to overexploitation. There are several types of "big" tuna, bluefin tuna, yellowfin, etc.

albacore (Thunnus alalunga)

Also known as: Longfin, German Bonito, Albacore, Albacore. Frequent catch in recreational fishing to trolling. Easy to identify the great length of pectoral fin.

Albacore (Thunnus obesus )

is almost identical to the previously discussed with the peculiarity of having the slightly shorter pectoral fin and as indicated by its scientific name is Obeso pesos at reaching much higher. Also known as bigeye and Asturias is known as Bonita. The next fish

outside the tuna family but is often wrongly associated with it, is often lower tunas are denominated in size and its resemblance to the copies of the tuna family. really belong to the family of the rubble.

Bonito (Sarda, Sarda)

It differs little tunny and Melva because it has two dorsal fins (the top) hit while the other two species are significantly separated. Also back are the stains of parallel stripes.

Andalusia Bonito. Asturias
: Albacore, Sierra, Striped.
Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Valencia Region: Bonitol, tonyina. Castilla
: Bonito, Sarda.
Galicia: Bonitale, Beautiful South.

little tunny (Euthinus alletteratus)

Bonito is unlike to have more separate dorsal fins without actually having them both as Melva also unlike Melva have rounder body and spots on the chest area.

Andalusia Sarda, little tunny.
Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Valencia Region: little tunny, Pigato.
Canary Little tunny.
Basque country: Ami, Tuna Txikia.

Melva (Auxis rochei / Auxis thazard)
two species are known, and Auxis Auxis rochei thazard , according to Collette and Nauen, 1983, in the Mediterranean and Atlantic catches are Auxis rochei.

It differs by having more separate dorsal fins that Pretty little tunny and also the lines of the ridges intersect forming "arabesque", no stains on the chest that differ little tunny.

Tasarte Finally the family Scombridae, with a strong presence in the Mediterranean and to my knowledge no in the Cantabrian.
Tasarte (Orcynopsis unicolor)

I have not found more names for this fish nor a picture where you can see well as add a drawing where the fins are better appreciated. It differs from earlier not to have spots and the position of the second dorsal fin is born precisely at the midpoint of its length. In addition to distinguish very well between the lateral line.

List (Euthynnus Pelamis)

Unlike other fish have stripes (lists) in the bottom of the body, also known as belly Bonito scratched. And

photo to comment without messing no more, do not forget the Mackerel (Xardas) and Starling (Verdel) of which I have found four different types: Starling (Scomber japonicus), mackerel frog (Scomber australasicus) Mackerel island (Rastrelliger faughni) Mackerel chubby Rastrelliger (brachysoma).

As you can see all these fish are very similar, difficult to distinguish at first sight but I hope with this post it easier to differentiate.

I add a PDF of the ICCAT chips in case you might like someone.
